Great tutorial as always. I miss the part to make the boolean effective by presing "make boolean mesh" in subtools menu (it creates a new subtool)

Thanks Michael, great tutorials. I've been following your intro to zbrush over the past week and now I'm on to the latest features trying stuff as I watch your vids. Lots to digest in one go but you cover everything in a very pedagogical manner.

This definitely is the most addicting part of 4R8 in my opinion! How will the world handle so much powa!!?? And when the lessons come from one of the best instructors, it's like heaven!

"Why was the top subtool sad?"

"Cuz the lower subtool was Boo-lee-an it" :-)

What if you want to combine the two layers. Any time I try to combine a normal layer with a boolean layer it turns it subtracted.

and then what how do i get out of booleam and keep the new design?

This is better than inserting mesh with negative dynamesh drove me crazy!
Thanks a lot!

I have no problem creating live booleans, but, I have several tool layers and I am trying to ONLY cut a hole through ONE tool, but, what's happening is another tool is also getting cut with the boolean on the layer that I am targeting. Both tools are next to each other. I have tried to turn off the "eye" on the layer that I don't want cut, but, that's not doing anything. I shut off "paint brush" in the layer that I don't want cut, but, that's also not helping. I don't know what to do. I've been trying to find a tutorial on YouTube that covers this question, but, so far, I can't find anyone who talks about how to remedy this type of situation. Thank you for any help you might be able to offer.

hi i just watched u'r tutorial and it's very helpful. i wanna ask about make boolean mesh. i was make a hard surface model from zmodeler and then insert some mesh for the boolean. after i press the make boolean mesh my subtool topology create n-gon topolgy on it. any suggestion how to clean it up into quad polygon again? because when i export it into obj file and load it in cinema 4d it create weird n-gon topology on it.

Is it possible to also have smooth (or bevel/fillet) on boolean intersections?
In video, you have added it on your main big cube then separately on smaller parts but what about on their intersections which still have sharp edges, is it possible and to keep it live too?

If you convert to mesh is the resulting geometry fully sculptable or does it need to be dynameshed or zremeshed?

WHAT IF I HAVE MORE THAN 2 SUBTOOLS AND I WANT TO FUCKING ONLY MERGE 2 OMFG
