Lyrics below as well (give a like for that?)

LYRICS: (CHORUS)
I can ride my bike with no handlebars No handlebars
No handlebars I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars No handlebars

(VERSE)
Look at me, look at me Hands in the air like it's good to be, Alive
And I'm a famous rapper Even when the paths are all crookedy
I can show you how to Do-Si-Do I can show you how to scratch a record
I can take apart the remote control And I can almost put it back together

I can tie a knot in a cherry stem I could tell you about Leif Ericson
I know all the words to "De Colores" And "I'm Proud to be an American"
Me and my friend saw a platypus Me and my friend made a comic book
And guess how long it took I can do anything that I want 'cause look

(CHORUS)
I can keep rhythm with no metronome No metronome
No metronome And I can see your face on the telephone
On the telephone On the telephone

(VERSE)
Look at me, look at me Just called to say that it's good to be alive
In such a small world I'm all curled with a book to read
I can make money, open up a thrift store I could make a living off a magazine
I can design an engine sixty-four miles to a gallon of gasoline

I can make new antibiotics I can make computers survive aquatic conditions
I know how to run a business And I can make you wanna buy a product
Movers, Shakers, and Producers Me and my friends understand the future
I see the strings that control the system I could do anything with no assistance 'cause

(CHORUS)
I can lead a nation with a microphone with a microphone
with a microphone And I can split the atoms of a Molecule
Of a Molecule Of a Molecule

(TRUMPET SOLO, CRESCENDO)

Look at me, look at me Driving and I won't stop
And it feels so good to be alive and on top My reach: is global
My tower: secure My cause: is noble
My power: is pure I could hand out a million vaccinations
Or let 'em all die from exasperation Have 'em all healed from the lacerations
Or have 'em all killed by assassination I can make anybody go to prison
Just because I don't like 'em And I can do anything with no permission
I have it all under my command because

(CHORUS)
I can guide a missile by satellite By satellite
By satellite And I can hit a target through a telescope
Through a telescope Through a telescope
And I can end the planet in a Holocaust In a Holocaust
In a Holocaust In a Holocaust
In a Holocaust In a Holocaust

I can ride my bike with no handlebars No handlebars
No handlebars I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars No handlebars

That awkward moment when you can't even ride a bike with handlebars.

There goes my dreams of being a dictator.

The lyrics to this song show the insanity and burden of humanity. Everyone starts innocent as a child and is coerced by power into madness... greed... maleficent addiction an illusion. No one thinks they are the evil one. No one thinks they are the raindrop that caused the flood... All the while they were a tsunami amongst an apocalypse. Some strong fucking lyrics right there.

This song is extremely important to me because before my brother left for the marines he told me that I first thing he wants to hear out of my mouth was this song. I’ve been listening to this song in repeat for 3 months and I wound stop until I know it word for word like he said . He comes back in 2 weeks! - November 8th 2022

I remember listening to this song for the first time back in my teen years, probably at the age of 14 or 15. I didn’t pay much attention to the lyrics other than the “I can ride my bike with no handlebars” part, which was nothing out of the ordinary because I didn’t pay much attention to lyrics at that age anyways. The melody of this song however, I could never forget. Literally got chills just thinking about it before I started to listen to it again just now. Then years later I come back sometimes and listen to it again and realize how insanely deep this song is. This might actually be one of my top favorite songs to have ever been made ❤

In the context of the song, I imagine that the bloke in the song HAS, in fact, ended the world in some way, but the repetition of the first verse through a filter brings very strong images of a photo of the kid riding a bike with no handlebars, buried amidst blackened, burned rubble. Very chilling.

Went from "I can ride my bike with no handlebars" to "I can end the planet in a holocaust" 0-100 real quick

This song creeps me out so much, comes back to me at 3 AM

I dont know this, but it almost sounds like its about a child with good intentions growing up into a monster.

Every time I listen to this song I imaging it telling a story
One about a child who grew up to be corrupted by his accomplishments and power,
Bringing chaos to the world until he was assassinated for his actions
The last verses being a flashback to when he was innocent and where it all started

I feel like this song is about how kids can do anything (the handlebars part makes me think of how kids brag about that), and the fact that sometimes, the can do some really bad things or do some awesome things. Then it goes back to the handlebars part to show that it starts off as a child doing something they find cool.

Rest In Peace Steve Harwell, your song is one of the main reasons Shrek became such a legendary film.

to me this song has always meant "just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should" like riding a bike with no handlebars. you could do it, easily im sure, but should you? could you lead a nation with a microphone? i bet you could, but should you? and i know scientist can split the atom of a molecule, but should they?

The song starts out so innocent, the person in the song starts out as a small child but eventually turns into a deluded power hungry man and finally a complete monster.

Ive always been my dads little girl, and this is his favorite song. He told me to to play this at his funeral, dead serious. I always brushed it off growing up, but now that i’m even older i live in constant fear whenever i listen to this song that hes gonna die some day. N e ways, point is, this song is way to impactful for its own good
