China's economy grew 4.5 % between January and March. The rise was driven by exports and a rebound in retail consumption after authorities lifted most pandemic restrictions. Unveiling the figures, China's official statistics bureau described them as a good start but said the foundation for economic recovery was not solid yet.

About 20 years ago, there was a lawyer from Los Angles by the name of Gordon Chang, who wrote a book, “The coming collapse of China.” Chang's main theme in the book is that the hidden nonperforming loans of the Chinese state-owned banks would likely bring down China's financial system and the governing regime.
He then repeatedly called the same lunatic shot in 2006, 2011, 2012, 2016 and 2017, and they were so painfully wrong that the humiliation in public has already dwarfed the credibility he still had left.

I'm currently live in China. From what I've witnessed, there are too many people shopping in the mall compared with the 2022. I believe it's meanly because they shift the direction toward the covid policy. I have great confidence they will hit higher target in quarter 2

4.5% is actually surprising because it is based on an 18% growth rate in the first quarter of last year. While there was almost no growth in the latter three quarters of last year. This means that China's growth for this
year is really not hard to reach 7%

US had been trying to weakening EU economy for sometime already and EU knew but they just cannot resist because of the WW2 consequences 😁 esp. for germany and japan in asia, they certainly wouldn't want US to remind them their past and roast them 😆
