If I was to go in there, it would only be to experience the Mountain, the trails, some of the landmarks of the history, not to find the mine. I would think, by now, if it, “the lost dutchman mine”..is or ever was there, it has been found and played out. Great stories to hear or read about, if one likes the tales of the old west. Thanks for this 🤠

Jacob Waltz brought home very little gold because he knew he couldn't protect it while he was gone. Jacob Waltz did have gold with him when he was sick and in his last months of life because he knew the lady that was taking care of him would not let anyone in his room to see him unless he wanted to talk to them. The gold in the candle box was intended for the lady that looked after of him in his final days.
Jacob Waltz took gold to Florence Arizona three times to mail to his sister in St. Louis Missouri, because he didn't want people in Phoenix Arizona to know how much gold he had. Jacob never went to Florence Arizona then to the mine because it was to wide open space and could be spotted easily for anyone that wanted to follow him to where ever he was going.
Jacob Waltz did work his mine and protect his mine but that was after three years after he found it. When Jacob knew he was getting to old to protect his mine he sealed the mine shut with ironwood logs and surrounding rock.
After Jacob Waltz was shot with a Apache arrow behind the left shoulder the Apaches thought they had killed him. If and when Jacob Waltz did go to the mine if any Apache's had seen him they would be inclined not to bother him because they probably thought this man can't be killed. Apache Indians were very superstitious.
Gold ore on the east side is not the Dutchman's ore. It's not pure enough, don't get me wrong it's pure gold, but its not mesothermal gold. There's where the difference is. Mr. Feldman wants to sell his book. Jacob Waltz gold is only mesothermal gold.
When I first started looking for the Jacob Waltz mine I never bought or read any books about the lost Dutchman's mine because I didn't want to be influenced by a writer that solely wanted to make a buck off his book or books. The only way to learn is to buy really good athletic shoes with inserts and walk back in there with a gallon of water.
Looking at google earth is not the same as being in there in person. Things look totally different in person. It's a huge area.

Listen to Ron Feldman and you will know the truth. I spent several vacations in the Superstitions during the early 1980's and into the '90s. I determined in 1998 that the Lost Dutchman Mine was located in an eastern canyon that contained THE "Cave with a House". I retired early (2000) from a great job in Alaska to hunt that canyon full time. After selling, moving down to Gold Canyon and preparing for the search I picked up a local newspaper concerning Mr. Feldman and his find in that very canyon. Talk about disappointment! But I am satisfied that I actually, without help, narrowed down the LDM to a very specific and correct canyon. Over time I have met Ron a couple of times and will say that he is a very nice good for him. On a side issue, I did accompany several members of the Historical Society to the massacre grounds some years back and pointed out a rock formation that might contain a little gold. The group leader did a little digging and found two small gold nuggets....residue from a grinding area. Hunting the Dutchman has been a great avocation. I wonder what else the Mountain might contain?

If you want to know where the Lost Dutchman Mine is, watch Jack San Felice's video titled "The Original Lost Dutchman Story by PC Bicknell". Listen to to that story very closely and Jack will tell you where the mine is, but will never come out and say it directly, I admire that. Ron Feldman and his son both know Jack San Felice and I believe Ron (here) and Jack are talking about the same mine that Jack describes in his video that I'm recommending. Jack refers to it as the "Pit Mine" and a friend of Jack's referred to it as the "Generator Mine." Best, Sig

5:17 The question I would have followed that with would have been, "if it's been found, does that mean everything valuable has been removed?"

What's the book that came up at 2:36? Is that Rons book?

I always assumed the bulldog mine was more than likely the "lost Dutchman mine"

He's right about Magill being a crook. My grandfather is the guy who appeared in Gentry's book under the alias "Jim Miller" and all the "info" for that book came straight from Magill. Magill never drew on Baker because Baker was trying to take Magill's water, according to Baker and the other guys who were there, Magill would drink all his water then try to get it from the other guys the few times he was actually in the mountains. Only the non dramatic stuff in the book is real. Nevertheless, my grandfather and then father were still convinced there was something there and continued to go there until each one died. I've been there many times and although it may have produced something at one time, I don't believe there is anything there now. So many other possibilities out there...

It’s interesting to compare Ron’s remarks here with his input about the relocation of Adolph Ruth’s body and the local rancher’s conspiracy to discourage prospecting on the east side of the Superstitions. In that video, he suggested that Jack Frasier “probably cleaned the mine out, ” because he, like some other locals, knew where it was. I’m assuming that Frasier, Barkley, and others must have some connection to the multiple coroner’s inquests that seem to have suppressed the facts about the mysterious killings in the region that occurred through the 1950s.

I haven’t read Ron’s books, but I have to wonder if the big conclusion is that, while treasures might still exist in the Superstitions in connection with old Peralta digs, the LDM was emptied of most riches back in the 1930s.

That mine would be to far for Waltz to ride out to the board house and back in 1 day.

I would like to hear Ron's opinion on arcana exploration and discovery who claim they found the lost dutchman.
