Typical night of tubing..got off into political vids and was angry and depressed for a bit and then somehow I clicked on Miss Ladyva's vid here...instantly happy again.

There is something very special about the way Ladyva plays this tune. She seems to be one with the music, almost poetic in nature!

That right hand walk down at 1:03 just kills me. Perfect touch on the keys. My ears are in love

Geez! Every one of your songs is better than the one Even when I play the same one again and again. I truly love your music. Thank you for making this available to us.

After seeing you run across Dr
K in the London train station. I looked up your site. Some boogie woogie history... My father worked his way through college in the early 1920s performing on the college vaudeville circuit as a wrestler and playing boogie woogie piano. He called it honky tonk, but it is the same "cycle of fifths". All the popular songs of the time from "Sweet Georgia Brown" to "5 Foot two" use that same pattern. The richness of the sound comes from the ability toplay each of the 5 cords in the cycle in a number of what they called "transformations" which is a fingering technique that moves the lowest note in each cord to the highest position or from the highest position to the bottom. It's a purely muscle memory kind of skill.
This is at the heart of honky tonk. But also of Rock and Roll.
They used this honky tonk style to provide the piano music accompanying the silent movie reels that were part of the vaudeville shows in the early 1920s when my dad was a college student.
Here we are 100 years later and it's all new again.

Surely you can find a pianist of comparable class? But it would be very difficult to find a pianist with more beauty and grace! ✌️👍

I have watched at least a dozen videos featuring Ladyva most were spectacular. But I like this one the best because she plays so naturally. It is as if she was at the piano in the living room and playing this piece for her dad. So very charming!

So love this. Brings back memories of my grandfather. Without ever having a lesson, he could play any instrument but his favorite was the piano, playing just like this young lady. She's fantastic.
