Adjusting the Artisan background profile DURING roasting

Have you ever loaded a background profile in Artisan, only to find that you're not able to hit the curve? Even at 100% power? Of course you have! We all have. There's no shame. Maybe it was a cold roaster. Maybe your line voltage is lower than normal because everyone is using the A/C. Or maybe you overloaded the roaster a bit. Not to worry. This video shows how to perfectly re-adjust the placement of the background roast profile on-the-fly! This is a simple but often overlooked coffee-saving feature of the incredible Artisan Roaster Scope software. (Reminder: support Artisan via donating and/or signing up for their inventory tracking service called Artisan Plus... it integrates with Artisan software and provides TONS of useful reports and metrics on your roasting.)

So I accidentally scrolled in Artisan the other day and shifted my profile. It was just a mouse scroll to the side I think. Total accident but it shifted the profile curve like this and I was like "what the heck?!" and a little mad because my curve was already spot on 😂. But this is actually a useful tip now that I know when to use it. Thanks for sharing!

I’ve got the Smole 350g roaster and followed all of your videos and have finally gotten everything tuned just about perfectly. Using the numbers for PID you gave me got me close, but I was always following the curve under just like this video shows. ALWAYS. It was driving me nuts until I found the secret sauce for me was to have a tiny Integral value of 0.030. Once I did this. The roasts have always tracked up to the line before dry end and locked in the rest of the way.
