I have the V3 with the basic power supply, which is more than enough for my 8 Ohms.

Fosi need to make a tube pre with 2 inputs and a remote.
Most people run digital and vinyl set-ups

Thanks for sharing! F.Y.I - You will get a giant step in audio quality in every facet of the audio if you upgrade the op-amps in your Fosi P3, and V3. The faults you find with these devices will mostly vanish once you upgrade the op-amps. You will get a more noticeable improvement upgrading the op-amps (Op-amp rolling) than you will over tube rolling. Sparkos SS3602 dual discrete op-amps are compatible. Your other devices may also have op-amp sockets to upgrade the op-amps in those devices too. There are many videos on upgrading the op-amps.

The nicely patterned holes in the top of the V3 are for cooling - I wouldn’t put the other amp, or anything else, on top. But thanks for a good review

Hello, thank you very much. My question is about the new fosi mc351, I want to buy it and connect it to passive speakers. Do you recommend this preamplifier with this model of amplifier together? Would I lose the digital optical connection to the TV, which is my intention, because I suppose that the p3 is connected first by RCA and from there it would have to go to the mc351 and then to the speakers, right? Would it be worth it? I would appreciate your advice, it would be very kind.

Interesting review as always. And I think that most of us agree with you, that class D sounds better with a tube preamp, as they compliment each other.
,
I noticed that the photos of your P3/V3 combo indicate that you turned the preamp volume all the way up, and used the V3 preamp to control volume. I'm wondering if you also tried it the other way around, so the preamp controls the volume? I've always thought that amps like the V3 should be turned up full, to eliminate the amp's volume control, so its more like the V3 Monos, or operates more like a basic power amp such as Schiit, Krell or Pass Labs which are controlled by a preamp's volume controls. When I use my tubed Audio Research SP3a-1 preamp with a stereo Fosi ZA3 at full volume, there's more ambience and warmth. If I turn the ZA3 volume down to say 12 o'clock and increase the preamp's volume, it sounds leaner, cleaner, but loses that warmth and ambience. Which is correct, I'm not certain. But it's fun to experiment, because it definitely changes the sound quality.

I'm not suggesting either way is the correct way, because I don't know for certain. Whatever sounds best in one's own system is always the right approach.

I had to sell my Bel Canto monoblocks a few months ago. I took part in the Fosi Kickstarter for the new v.3 monos and they just arrived a few days ago. I have two of these ridiculously cheap monos paired with my Black Ice Audio F360 tubed preamp, and I feel kinda weird admitting that it's actually close enough to the Bel Canto pairing that I am more than happy going forward just like this. I did upgrade the opamps in the v3's, but other than that, it's kind of ridiculous that they sound this good.
