Clicked for the guitars, stayed for the playing! Another great sounding demo Chris! Your tracks are superb and you give both guitars an equal shot. I thought the Murphy was a little more refined with a touch more clarity but I would buy the regular one because it too sounds good!

I recently bought a 2023 Cherry ES-335. I went to CME to check out a used 2013 model I saw they had listed. I tried it and liked it, but when I picked up a brand new one I realized just how much better the new models really are. The neck on the new one is a little chunkier and felt way better. The most surprising thing to me though is that I actually really liked how the T-type pickups sounded on this guitar as opposed to the 57 classics. And this from someone who likes 57 classics. Gibson is churning out some great stuff right now.

I have a production USA Gibson ES-335 in Vintage Burst. 2020 model I believe? Fantastic guitar all around and I'm very happy with the T-Type pickups.

Nice video and sweet playing.. Would love to hear the comparison thru some vintage Fender and Marshall amps.

The tones are just as stellar as the playing. Awesome axes!

Just listened again. Still like both a lot. The T-Types have more beef. Btw. did you adjust the pups to similar height !?

I’ve had my Nashville 335 for about a year now, I absolutely love it. I usually buy custom shop Gibson guitars, I own a 59 historic and 61 Gibson les Paul “SG” and Gibson hummingbird. After playing the Nashville made ES 335 I was pleasantly surprised at the tone and quality. I bought the same one your using in the video and relic’d it myself. Polished the frets, and now it feels much like an old 335 and playing and sounds great. I love the thing.
Great playing man! Loved that little piece you put together.
I recently played a 59 es 335 custom shop, it edges out the Nashville a little in my opinion, I liked the neck profile a little more along with a nicer burst finish imo. That’s it. Tone wise through the right amp, these beasts do their job very well.
Great work Gibson! ✌️

I own 3 Gibson CS guitars (LP Custom, LP Junior 57 and a 67 V) but this time I went for the USA figured ES335. The quality at Gibson (standards) has improved significantly, and I just find it a beautiful guitar for a reasonable price ( still paid 3450 eur, so not cheap!) A nice addition to my collection I think. Thanks for the Demo, nice playing

The Bassy line on the Black were unbelievable, But the chime of the burst were wicked cool you better get both.

Lovely sounds! Which QC amp model/capture did you use for the demo?

Great A/B. Some would say the black M blends better - I state the burst is more distinct. Never underestimate the (new) T-type calibrated. They may not provide the quintessential 335 semi-jazzy sound 1 to 1 - but do so much else.
The heavy yet elegant piece of music from 2:47 and out is stellar. I got the vocal down immediately.
Let's culitivate the track and put out a 7 inch single.

It's impossible to find a production line es. Stores I go to are full of Murphy lab guitars. There are only so many lawyers and doctors who can afford Murphy. I'm a lawyer and I can barely afford a satin production es. Besides, who wants a new beat up guitar? Just my opinion. Beautiful playing.

I love that 1959 Murphy Lab in ebony black, but is expensive and I don’t really like relic/checkered finished guitars.

That’s what I needed to hear. Thanks! By the way… I really like what you played for the examples. 👍🏼

Hi Chris, the prices of "Custom Shop" guitars are already overrated especially for familiar brands.35+ years ago it was all "Standard" and we bought it in a regular music shop, they were expensive but not so much! Therefore, I would choose an "Original"!
