Why is changing the time in the spring and fall so important that we risk health problems and car accidents? It's not like most of us are farmers in the 18th century, so we should just get rid of it.

It's like cutting off one end of a blanket, sowing it to the other end and claiming the blanket is now longer.

I’m a retired public school teacher.
I remember the drop in student energy and morale that came with ‘spring forward’. It set the tone for the remainder of the school year.

I agree. Daylight savings time is a pain. We need to return to standard time.

Please Get Rid Of Daylight Saving Time

While I agree it’s unnecessary, they need to end it after the “Spring forward”. The more daylight you have during after work hours, the happier you are. During the summer, it does not get dark until 8:30-9:00 PM. I am way more productive and happy during these months. When it gets dark at 5:00PM, emotionally and physically I shut down

I honestly get the two mixed up. I'm for whatever gives me an extra hour of daylight in the evening. I don't think anyone wants it to be dark at 5 in the winter.

I agree! Daylight savings time must die permanently!

Exactly!! Once it was 1:00 AM, I was just chilling, but when I immediately saw it change to 3:00 AM, I jumped! I was scared as hell. I don't remember staying up until 3:00 AM!

Am I the only one who prefers it being night at 8am than sunny at 10pm?

Only an idiot would take two inches off the blanket at the top, put it at the bottom and somehow are convinced that they have a longer blanket.

I was out late saturday with some friends, and I was already tired, but saw the time was like 1:50 and we were heading home. No big deal, be at home maybe around 2:45. Looked at my clock and it was magically 3:00 while my friends car clock still said 2:00. We didn't all get home until like 5:00, which could have been 4:00. Threw me the hell off.

I agree with doing away with it. People become more stressed, fatigue, & grumpier being harder to deal with. I never liked it especially working the night shift going in & the sun is in your face. I know a lot of people like it but I just assume to do away with it myself.

We only need one reason why we should keep it; Time Travel - Thanks to Daylight Savings Time we get TRAVEL THROUGH TIME TWICE A YEAR! Until we can invent time machines that can run on potatoes we need daylight savings time.

Additional reason. It makes calculation of the time between countries confusing, because different countries do different things at different times.
I live in the UK, have a brother in Australia, and watch the NFL. In February, I am 10 and a half (yes really) hours behind my Brother, and 5 hours ahead of the US. Then in March-April, US goes forward before we do - so is 4 for 2-3 weeks. We then go forward (making it 5 again), while Australia becomes 9 and half. Australia then go BACK (being in the southern hemisphere) - making them 8 and a half. This then reverses in October-November. Australia goes FORWARD first, making it 9 and half, then we go back making it 10 and half. US at this point becomes only 4, till it moves back a week later and becoming 5 again.
[if this sounds confusing, it's because it is meant to]

and you might call these are 'trivial reasons - but if you think about all the cross country business that takes place these days, these differences in time probably cause problems there

Here in Florida, we're sort of heading in the right direction. The state House and Senate recently passed a bill putting us on DST all year. I believe the Governor had signed it or will be signing it shortly.

The reason I say "sort of heading in the right direction" is instead of year round DST, it should be year round standard time, in my opinion. What can I say, I'm old fashioned. 😀

This stupid eight months on and four months off doesn't work. Come on, turn clocks ahead before St. Patrick's Day and fall back after Halloween just makes this pointless and defeats the purpose. At least in the US, someone must be profitting from the silly biannual clock change.
