Growing Catfish at Home. This is how i grow my own catfish.

Just so I don't have to run to the market every time I want them. Catfish, contrary to what we think is the easiest fish to grow at home.

I know this because I started growing mine 2 years ago when I just moved here, the driver I was working with then told me he once did it as a business and said he would help set it up for me at home if I'm interested, and show me how to care for them..
.
And I let him, so he helped me get the tank(it still had some brown chemical inside and the top wasn't cut open) so we had to first wash out the brown muddy chemical, cut the top off and soaked the tank in plantain leaves(fill tank with water) then after 2 weeks when you start noticing mosquitoes in your tank,you can now drain, remove grasses and plantain leaves from tank, wash the tank without soap and fill up with fresh water, then get your fishes inside.

The idea is that, if the mosquitoes can now survive in the Tank(that was filled with brown muddy chemical) then you little fishes can survive in there too.

At first I got the feeding wrong, but I had to learn from my mistakes..
.
Sometimes when we are coming back from work, we'd stop at a place the butcher chicken and take all their intestines, blood from beef, etc and come back home to feed the fishes with, they love it! they also would eat stale left over bread, even kale, lettuce, ugu, waterleaves and okro from the garden.

I realised it was easy and stress free to grow your fish at home, 2 years now and I'm still doing it and enjoying all the benefits, from using the water sometimes in my garden, to enjoying all kinds of meal from my garden, sharing with family and friends..

The Bible forbids us to eat fish with NO SCALES.( They are unclean because they are bottom feeders, scavengers.) Fun Fact: If you catch these in the USA put one in a tank by self and feed it fish food, they turn CLEAR and you can see the insides working... Pretty cool 😎 kids love it...
