Why Betting On “Winning” Industries Almost Never Works

In investing, betting on the success of a single industry is typically not a good idea, but a lot of investors make industry bets in their portfolios based on what they think is going to do well. That is probably a mistake.

The data presented at 1:20 may be sensitive to arbitrary assumptions you make about when "decades" start. You should roll through the whole time series with a moving ten year window, not just "back in time from now in ten year increments".
