I don’t think this portrayal of the USSR is essentially anti-Soviet or comes from an anti-Soviet bias. Compared to most western portrayals of the USSR as being cartoonishly evil, this was a more refreshing take on it. My theory is that the creators were not anti-Soviet but just lacked an understanding of the Soviet system or communism/socialism in general, which resulted in a purely ascetic portrayal of the USSR. It wouldn’t be unfair to portray this alternate version of the USSR has having corruption, considering the corruption that did exist in the Soviet Union, but was ultimately purged, only to slowly take power over the course of the post-Stalin era.

Can you give sources for your statements? Because I have dealt with Trotsky but nowhere could I find lines of him proposing the export of revolution by means of war, quite the opposite actually.
