Last week I warned the club not to leave us strikerless in terms of signings in the last week of the window. It was left right up until the very end, but you pulled through, well done.

And well done yesterday. Perfect game plan, excellent performance.

My only gripe is that we're seeing this new set of key players rising to the top of the hierarchy, only to have to watch them go off injured. Cotter in midweek, off injured. Watters today, off injured. Pines, off injured.

Whoever gets promoted this year, I guarantee they won't be teams where their big players are having to go off injured all the time. I realise these are just little niggly things or slight knocks or else we would have heard about them in press releases and media clippings and so forth, but still:

Protect yourselves, train right, eat right, no need to go headlong into challenges when you're 3-0 up and cruising. That sort of thing. Good job!
