The why is “consumers are now buying 380 pistols of this size.” The sig p356, beretta 80x, and the ez are selling, so glock is taking advantage. Also, anyone who shoots a 9mm can shoot a 380 better.

I got to hold a 28. Small batch sounds about right. For fitting, trigger-pull, it's about the same as what can't be imported. It should stay that way. Way too many QC issues, if they ever went beyond small-batch production. It easily jams, if the feed ramp isn't polished correctly. Aside from that, some prefer .380 to avoid over-penetration and softer recoil. I think the 26 is a better option though: more capacity and accessories.

Make mine the larger "new" G25 .gen3 .380 with 4.02" barrel, G19 size frame, 15 rd mag, 17 rd mags coming soon.
Ordered it in OD Green. Yum, 👍

380 solid copper round will do the job.

Some do just like the watered down punch cuz theyre recoil "sensetive"

For some people 10 rounds of 380 beats 1 round of 9mm then a malfunction from limp-wristing. I know a few new shooters like that. One doesn't have the strength to even cock the hammer on my Ruger LCRX 38. This Glock 28 is for her. Or elderly people with arthritis or an injured hand. I have no problem with micro pistols but some people do.

TALO was responsible for getting Glock to sell the G28 stateside. Glock had no interest in selling the the G28 in the US market. The G28 was made for markets that cannot use military/law enforcement calibers.

They're trying to compete with the Ruger Security 380, Smith &Wesson EZ, and Berretta Cheetah.

I'm not sure the lower recoil of the .380 is even an advantage in this particular gun, because it is a straight blowback design.
Blowback guns tend to have snappier recoil than locked breech designs, and they also tend to have stiffer recoil springs, making it more difficult to rack the slide.
To me, that seems to negate all the possible advantages of a .380 version of the Glock design.
If they had gone with a locked breech, the pistol would be easy to rack and very soft shooting, making it ideal for people with less hand strength.
The G42 is a .380 and uses the locked breech system, and it is a very pleasant gun to shoot.
If they had done the same thing with the G28, it would have been an absolute dream to shoot, since the larger size and wider grip area would have reduced perceived recoil even further.
I would have bought one for my girfriend in a hearbeat.

The 1968 GCA "point system" requirement for imported handguns is a textbook case in unintended consequences. It directly led to the birth of an entire domestic industry of super cheap pistols (Raven Arms, etc.) that sold in the millions. I always get a chuckle out of that.

Blocks always look like someone carved a gun out of a 2x4 with a bandsaw!

Whelp.... Again, i just cant bring myself to buy one of these things. Ive contemplated a g26 for years, then everytime i pick one up, i throw up in my mouth a little bit. I had one of these g28s in my hand recently, and again 🤢 . I just cannot seem to convince myself to buy one of these things.

There is a place for a low recoil very reliable auto in this present demon infested society.

They also have the Glock 25, it’s basically a 19 chambered in .380 and they made it for countries that don’t allow military calibers

.380 /9mm short has always been a popular round, most think of .380 in a lcp or micro gun that is very snappy to shoot, yes there is small 9mm that are snappy also, try shooting a sig p365 in 380 ! What a blast to shoot ! Its all about enjoying the shooting experience! Caliber is secondary to proficiency!

G25 up next. Only cost them a few pennies more to roll stamp it different and make a new magazine, barrel and recoil spring.

I think it’s cool from a collector stand point. But I would say if you want a .380 get an mp ez, sig 365 I think comes in 380 now, or ruger 380.

I'd rather have the Glock 25 or even a G42X, if they ever wake up and manufacture them.
