The Minecraft Movie memes were funny but the film's success honestly spells disaster for pop culture. Every blockbuster movie now is going to try to replicate the brainrot humor virality that Minecraft nailed, which means sincerity is once again going out of style. We're back to the 2010s meta humor era only now there's an extra layer of irony getting in the way of genuine storytelling.

my dad has always been a super fan of superman, read all the comics growing up, and i've never seen somebody more excited for a movie than he is. i pray to any and every deity and james gunn that its a phenomenal movie because the trailers have had him so happy
