Definitely very distinct city vibes. I was stationed there since it's the home of the Dragoon battalion of Lithuanian armed forces. I love the place

German inpact is seen on taxies of Klaipėda. In other cities like Vilnius, Kaunas taxies are Prius or something. In Klaipėda most of the taxis are Mercedes-Benz, Opel etc. German car manufacturers

Did you know that neither Memel is a German word, nor Klaipeda is a Lithuanian one? Both are Curonian words. Curonians were the baltic tribe inhabiting the costal area of Latvia and Lithuania those times.

Fun fact: outside of the old town, you'll either find super futuristic buildings and lots of big shopping centres (literally) or 60s-80s Soviet era apartments.

Even if it was prussian. Prussia is not German but baltic. Its more accurate to say Germany has some baltic architecture historically

It is not German anymore. I mean, there are no Germans living there anymore. Or there are just a few.
