Knick fans revealing themselves as insecure Nervous Nellies who seem to idolize Isiah Hartenstein as if he were Patrick Ewing; solid player, but not a star nor a superstar nor even a starting center (here or OKC or anywhere he's played in the NBA). Did good things, no doubt, but still no savior: Embiid on ONE LEG ate him for lunch on one leg and the athletic IND frontline made him powerless to defend anything (even had 0 points in G7!) bc he was not explosive enough: If anything, Thibs was DUMB not to have inserted Sims in to force Embiid to jump on that leg; he was also the ONLY Knick big explosive enough to jump, run and stay with Obi and company.

Quick reminder: we had ihart and STILL LOST.

We'll be fine with Sims, Precious and whomever else they get when Mitch goes down: BOS won with a 38 yr old backup center.

Ihart's 8 points and 8 rebs are replaceable, probably by Sims alone if he gets the same 25 minutes.

Get a grip.

Still "short" a big man. Had an opportunity to address during the draft and free agency. Did nothing. Often injured Mitch who is coming off an injury. Lost Hartenstein. The starting center position is definitely weaker and less certain than it was last season. Thibs and Knicks front office failed to address that need. Precious is a backup power forward. He can play emergency backup center for 4 to 5 games but is not the longterm solution. Disappointing. This will haunt them for the entire season.

For one I only like the precious signing because they didn’t address the 5 position which I believe is a big mistake. Secondly, I like Bridges but we grossly overpaid for him and could be viewed as the worst trade in team history if they don’t win. Thirdly, to match up with Boston we need more shot creators. 4 of 5 Boston starters can create their own shot. For us, only Brunson and Randle can create their own shot on the entire team. Putting Randle at the 5 is a mistake. His defense isn’t good enough and if the Knicks play outside in for Brunson to operate that will be a problem as Randle is better playing inside out. Then there is the Size issue for the Knicks. We’re not a particularly big team, actually minus Robinson, Sims and Randle so I don’t know.
