Climate activists deflated some tires in a Southeast Portland neighborhood, leaving a note behind justifying the act in the name of climate change and pollution.

7 gallons of oil to produce one tire how does that help the climate? Now a tow truck will need to be called using dirty diesel fuel and then use dirty hydraulic fluid that will leak all over the road and into water supply just to lift the car to transport it to a shop that that will use more hydraulic fluid to lift the car to fit it with 4 more tires thaf took at least 7 gallons of oil to produce each, that were then transported on another big truck burning dirty diesel fuel. Yeah you did a lot of good for the environment stopping these privately owned vehicles. Lady probably had to take an Uber or Lyft that was likely an suv anyway. They would be better trying to stop trains or fuel trucks then peoples personal vehicles.

People will not gain the support of the majority by making people’s lives more difficult. The way to make a lasting and profound transformation is not quite as ‘exciting’ though much more impactful. All this causes is more carbon emissions because the owner will have to buy new tires. Which are made from oil and rubber. Tire manufacturing causes emissions. These people are fools.

The activists should take the protests to the front doors of capitalist leaders and the CEO’s / large business owners.

American automakers don’t even offer passenger sedans in the US anymore besides the Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300. Automakers are diverting the chips that are in short supply to high profit margin vehicles like SUVs.

The US government doesn’t invest tax dollars to maintain roads, so people buy SUVs to compensate.

If joe shmoe needs a new vehicle because his old one broke down, what is he to do?

Don’t target the Middle Class or Poor. They’re using these vehicles to feed their families in a time of economic crisis. If they get fired for not coming into work on time, their entire family gets thrown out on the street. If their livelihoods are at stake, they will use violence to protect it.

Such people don't actually care about the environment; the just want to feel powerful and they'll use the veil of activism to play out their self-absorbed, masturbatory hero fantasies, without regard for the _actual_ effects their actions will have.
If they really cared, they'd realize that slashed tires only cause more tires to be purchased and produced and almost always cause the victims to feel opposed to the cause.
Real activists do the *hard work* of actually talking _with_ the people in their community, instead of stabbing them in the back.
