Very useful, I had never heard of the rule of 72

Nice one Tim. Not seen that rule before. Unfortunately the ravages of inflation mentioned in the middle section of the video also apply to the returns quoted in the last section! Happily the long term *real* return (i.e. after inflation) quoted in the Barclays Equity Guilt Study is about 5% pa so the point is still valid.
