House Heavily Damaged by Flames | Apple Valley

12.23.2020 | 9:04 PM | APPLE VALLEY - A family was displaced after fire destroyed their home Wednesday night.

Shortly after 9 PM, Firefighters with the Apple Valley Fire Protection District responded to the reported blaze along the 21900 Block of Standing Rock Road in Apple Valley.

Witnesses reported hearing a large explosion and then the fire erupted.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find a house well involved in flames.

The fire started in the rear of the house, and then spread into the vegetation and started the backyard on fire next door.

The family was able to safely evacuate the house, although one dog has not been located yet.

Firefighters were able to knock down the majority of the fire in around 40 minutes.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
