Elektron Syntakt Digital and Analog Drum Synthesizer Demo

We were thrilled to have Elektron’s Mario Hernandez stop by Sweetwater for a look at the Syntakt, the newest iteration of the manufacturer’s groundbreaking line of drum computers. Though a drum specialist first and foremost, Syntakt’s compositional capabilities far exceed simply being a rhythm engine. Analog sounds intermix with digital FM synthesis to produce a prismatic aural texture worthy of its techno-punk aesthetic. The beauty isn’t just skin deep, however, as an assortment of distortions, filters, FX, parameter locks, and trig modifiers harmonize across upward of 64 sequenced steps.

got an analog rytm from sweetwater last fall, and its easily the coolest drum machine ive ever used, if not the best piece of gear at large. dont think i can justify getting one of these since i already have the rytm, but it looks soooo cool. love this form factor that they've been making their gear in over the past few years. elektrons probably my favorite manufacturer honestly

Based on this demo, the main weakness of this machine is sound. So much sounds like a Casio keyboard. The hardware and software interface seem really nice. If it sounded better, it’d probably be worth about $500.
