Paulie's idea is very sound, and should be implemented. Chip Kelly's idea of moving the top 64-80 college football teams to an NFL type collection, and relegate all other sports to regional spaces, to save colleges money, and be able to continue to offer many college athletes scholarships, despite their respective sports making zero money [aka losing money].
Two of the best ideas I have read/heard, and both should be added to the fray immediately.
This is a moment where the NCAA could regain some credibility and do these things. They aren't going to, but they could.

this is a dumb idea. contrary to popular belief, the QB isnt always the most valuable player on the team. under paulie's plan bo jackson or a randy moss or charles woodson would cost lets say $70k. but a gino torretta would garner $100k.
