Astronomers have discovered strange new planets that amaze the world of science over and over again. These new planets could not be more different from our own planet. Some of these strange worlds don't have stars, others are made out of diamonds.

It is true that most (75%) of stars are red-dwarves, but they pose several hurtles that life must pass before life can exist around them. First, of course, is that they be in the “Goldie-locks zone” where water can exist in a liquid state. That seems to be the most prominent feature of the search for life that we currently have. Also, they probably shouldn’t be tidally locked (which most, if not all, of the planets found around red-dwarves have been found) as this makes too much of a temperature difference between the light side and the dark side. Also, most red dwarves periodically have X-ray and gamma ray flares, that could sterilize a nearby planet. Eventually, red dwarves could “calm down” enough so that life could exist on their planets, but that could take a very long time. It is not at all clear that the way the planets of our solar system is the common way for planets to form, as many Jupiter sized planets have been found very close in around red dwarves. (It appears that our gas giants - Jupiter and Saturn performed a “dance” early on in the formation of our solar system that cleared much debris out of the way, so that our planet didn’t become an inhospitable “giant earth”. Lastly, an important event in the development of our planet seems to be the impact with Thea (the Mars sized planet) early in the earth’s formation that hit at an oblique enough of an angle to blast the material out to form the moon (an integral part in the development of life on earth) and gave our planet much more dense material in the core so that plate tectonics could later begin (also integral in the development of life). Simply being in the “Goldie-locks zone” may not be enough for life to form on a planet, but merely one of many factors.

If the planet is tidally locked then it most likely has no magnetosphere. An iron core has to be spinning to generate the magnetic flux lines.

I don't think you necessarily have to have water to have life. What if there's another compound that sustains life?

This is Three dog owwww!! And you’re listening to galaxy news radio….bringing you the truth no matter how bad it hurts…

Auroras on tidal locked planets? Who wrote this script? You only get a magnetic field if the planet turns and you have a lot inner core of metal that spins.

Why do some scientists assume that to exist, all life needs water only because we on earth, need water to exist? Perhaps, scientists need to be more open-minded and accept/consider that there exists other intelligent entities whose ability to exist may depend on different life support elements than us earthlings.

*sings*
It's cold outside,
There's no kind of atmosphere
I'm all alone,
More or less
Let me fly, far away from here-
Fun, fun, fun- in the sun sun, sun...

Would a person born on a planet with a red sun be invulnerable to injury and extreme levels of strength amongst other extreme capabilities if they were to travel to a planet with a yellow sun?

The sun is considered a yellow dwarf according to scientists and astronomers.

If you're born in the dark and you go towards the light, you evaporate. 🤔
