How to Hide and Unhide Objects in Blender

In Blender, we hide objects by selecting them and using the keyboard shortcut "H" however this doesn't hide the object from the final render. To do that we hide objects in the outliner. I'll also show you how to hide entire collections and a few other tricks for how to hide and unhide objects in this Blender tutorial.

In Maya When i press H, it will hide and pressing H again will unhide that specific object. Is there a way to do it this way in blender? (without pressing Alt+H which will unhide ALL?)
Thank you

Great tip Brandon, thanks!👍 I recently discovered that numpad-key / also toggles the visibility of all objects in the 3D viewport except the active object. It even auto zooms in on it, which is nice. I'm not sure where the banished items go [the Forbidden Zone?] as the eyeballs in the outliner don't change. Ahhh... yet another one of Blender's many mysteries, eh?

Edit: OUCH just found out _Alt + H_ can be DANGEROUS for large multi-object projects. Unlike the _numpad-key /_ toggle, it unhides ALL hidden objects, not just the last ones hidden. I'm modeling a fully furnished custom house for my Microsoft Flight Simulator scenery. I have many objects duplicated until I finalize the look and feel. I can easily swap between closed or open versions of curtains, windows, etc., for each of the 8 pairs of windows in the house. I just tried Alt + H and it worked only too well. Had to close then reopen the file to undo the damage. Thankfully, the _numpad-key /_ toggle only affects the visibility of the objects in the 3D viewport, not the outliner, so is completely safe.

Regards from Thailand & keep 'em coming! 😁
