Its soo funny on how we used to think the songs back then were just there to entertain us and doesnt have a meaning. Now, we realize it does and all we have left now (todays songs) are full of non sense ;(

I first heard this when Grayson Chance appeared on... Oh god, I think it was either Sunny With A Chance as A Guest Star or American Idol... Back then, it was a pretty song that I didn't know the meaning of yet.

Now, I'm turning 23 soon and I have a Virtual Open call coming up to audition for The Voice and this song popped into my head for the first time in years. Hearing the whole thing again, I realize that this song is about chasing your dreams. There's a comfort zone we put ourselves in even though we're dreaming big. "The first step is the hardest"... That alone basically means, it's hard to get out of the comfort zone, but once we take that first step out of the comfort zone, we're running toward what we dream of before we know it. Whether it's becoming a singer, an artist, a published author, a dancer, an entrepreneur who changes the world with one idea, a doctor, or even a stay at home parent, I hope everyone reading this comment has the courage to take that first step toward living their dreams

This song has always meant something to me on a deeper level because I grew up in a very sheltered family never taking risks as much as I have now and feels as though this song is singing in 3rd person to me that I can now do so much ….

Some people say, if you are tired take a rest for awhile and continue when u r ready. But for me, if you're tired just stop forever and take another road. This world is big and we have lots of options.

2019. Just 3 years ago I was in a crisis center, depicting the lyrics in this song with fellow people in there going through a hard time. Hearing it makes my heart hurt and makes me sad, but it also makes me happy on far I've gone.. I'm happy I went to the crisis center instead of continuing with my plans of committing suicide.
