The H9 got a successor in late 2022. Everybody who likes this review of the H9 should go and check out the H90... it's basically 2x H9 combined in one unit with much upgraded processing power and a few other changes which make this a perfect tool for everybody using a Xone 92/96 mixer with it's 2x send/return signal paths!

Looks nice. I think the review could have been improved by showing the difference of dry/wet signal by turning it on/off. It was hard to understand what was added by the H9.

I'm using this right now for my Pioneer DJM V10. Specifically, the H9 Max which is filled to the brim with effects. Let me make several factors clear:
1. This is a very, very sophisticated machine (DO NOT LET THE LOOKS OF THIS MACHINE FOOL YOU). What I mean is you will get buried in the pedal effects which are broken down further by major effects that are further broken down by algorithms and are broken down into a further genre where you can have a total of 6-8 parameters that can be independently controlled.
2. The sounds are incredibly. The delays, space effects, reverbs, and so forth have so much richness and depth. The Blackhole sounds are absolutely mindblowing and are suitable for DJ's (buried within the H9 max parameters there's a function where the logarithms are made for guitar, synthesizers, and bass synthesizers (ideal for keyboards/electronic sounds).
3. Because there are so many parameters and so many effects, you will get lost rather quickly in the sea of effects. This is both a large positive and a large negative.
4. You have to use computer/iPhone integration to maneuver your way around the effects. Don't think it's as simple as pressing some buttons. The H9 can definitly can use a midi control. However, even then because the H9 Max has so many pedals embedded within the software, the physical control buttons do not have the same button functions for the varying pedal parameters within the software. Thus, the reason why the screen interaction is a must.

For the price, the Eventide H9 Max does give you an incredible variety. However, I'm gong to be looking at another complex guitar effects processors (made for DJing as well) with full controls and a screen to tweak the parameters independently like a Boss GT-1000.

I had the H9 Max in my guitar setup and just started using while DJing and it sounds incredible. You can tweak the settings to make sure the effects sit in the mix... it very easy to make it sound like the effect is part of the song and not a DJ putting on an effect. You can use the tap tempo to get it in sync or hit the tap button once and the BPM pops up and you just scroll to the right BPM. Great review, gave me some new ideas.

Can you do a video on integrating Maschine Studio/MK3 with a DJ set?

djtechtools should make a "chroma cap" rotating knob "MPC" style with the dimple to make smoother Effects without having the need to lift your finger from the H9! If you guys pitch them that idea tell them to credit me🤗. This would be an excellent addition to my setup! Sweet review, mojaxx!

Cool toy, not something I'd save up for not really necessary for my set up. But still very cool. And we don't need to know you kept your finger on yer hot knob... Some informations best kept to yourself eh 😉 great review again thanks for the work!

Yeah dude, you need to do a better job showing the features. If it melts your brain, show that! YOU should put in the time since YOU are promoting it.

would this little unit of fun work with the Mastersounds Linear Valve DJ Mixer does anybody know? The only thing that's putting me off getting this mixer is apparently its a right ole faff to get external effects units to work with it other than the Mastersounds fx unit?

But I think you can use any midi controller with it (that has actual midi socket, not over USB).

What kind of send/return cables are you using? I've been searching and no luck?

Is it possible to pass it through the master output in a specific setting so it "corrects" the sound system of a club and making the mixer effects or rmx1000 sounds better?

When i have to connect an ipad or smartphone to edit it propertly - why not use VSTs? like awesome soundtoys bundle, valhalla dsp reverb, etc … much more affordable, incredible sound and … i can use more than one effect at once … dont get me wrong, i love pedal effects … but only when i can edit it easily direct on the unit.

Trying to wrap my head around the fact that you AREN'T using the bluetooth to an ipad/iphone to control the pedal, seems like that IS the way to do what you're trying to do. Watching you turn that slow dial is a terrible way to promote this to DJs
