You guys listened to the best version of the song. This particular one is much better than the album version. That's my opinion but it's a good song nevertheless.

I been to their town which they're from in Texas. I buy me beer from a brewery there. It's a country, small town for sure

When you mentioned that you like the feeling of getting back home to your woman, man that is a good feeling. I ain't got a woman cause she left my ass for some SOB but there is another Ronnie Milsap song called "home Fires Burning" or something like that and he talks about the same kinda thing. "She keeps the home fires burning" that talks about the same kinda thing. Having a Woman at home is bout the best thing a honest fella can have. As long as he works, is honest, loves and tries, ain't nothing better.

Slow --- slow --- quick/quick
14 gears refers to the truck he's driving
Usually big rigs have multi speed differentials
Could be (Probably is) a 7 speed transmission with a 2 speed read end...
So you run through the gears with the low ratio rear, then shift to the high speed rear end and go through the gears again

This was totally a trucking song. I don't know anything about a 14-speed, but I've driven plenty of 9, 10 and 13 speeds. I'd love to see you guys do some more trucking songs.
