The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) has urged members of parliament and the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to prioritize unemployed teachers who have been out of work for an extended period of time over recent graduates. This comes just days after the president's working group on education reform directed the TSC to hire an additional 30,000 teachers for the junior secondary category. While speaking to the media, KUPPET chair Omboko Milemba said this is the only way to ensure fairness in teacher hiring.
