2018 Audi S3 vs 2018 Ford Focus ST Mountune Edition | LAUNCH AND ROLLING RUNS

Welcome back to the channel. This is the second video in the new section on my channel titled "S3 vs the world" in which i'm featuring 2018 Audi S3 vs the 2018 Ford Focus Mountune Edition.

In this feature I did a comparison against a 2018 Ford Focus ST Mountune Edition which i thought was quite interesting. The Ford Focus Mountune Edition is pretty much like a Stage 1 kit Ford Focus ST and can be ordered directly from the factory with all the bells and whistles whilst still retaining all warranties - definitely a plus. This car is currently putting out just over 200wkw (204wkw to be exact) and 430Nm of torque which i thought was a decent comparison for the 2018 Audi S3 which is currently putting out 228kw and 400Nm on the flywheel.

We did a launch comparison as well as a few rolling runs to get a good feel for how these 2 cars compare on the road. The result was rather interesting....

Your missing the mountune hose from your induction kit to your filter a makes the air flow better

Btw I have the Mythos black how have you found the paint?
I polished mine and the holograms grrrr and stone chips anyway I've worked out how to polish without hazing the finish if interested?

In bhp the Audi is claimed at 310 bhp
The Mountune ST 275bhp I have my 2017 bluefin mapppd I cannot use 2nd gear for hard acceleration, it wheel spins even in the dry . I probs would’ve of rolled in 3rd gear, I’m also not a fan of them K&N filters especially not in warmer weather they just draw hot air from the engine into the intake .

Nice 1 that s3 sure runs strong... Feel bad for the st driver spent all his bucks on a new Ford with a stage 1 n still gets hammered by a stock s3 effortless

Not even a roll restrictor? You ain’t gonna put the power down with out it also he pipe coming from the induction kit the bumpy looking one restricts air flow that goes to the filter needs changing to a mountune one £60 uk. Also short shift billet to make the gear changes shorter. All mountune stuff.

interesting comparison as these cars can meet frequently out there on the streets on daily basis. the focus st wins for driving fun factor + involvement and bang for the buck. S3 is a fast, clinical, understeering, expensive car with luxury touches, very nice for what it is nevertheless . Golf R shares the platform with S3 but the characters are quite different, R is the better driving machine.

So what's the conclusion here? That the Focus ST, even with a stage one tune isn't fast at all😅

I think ST owners would be shocked to see how fast the S3 is against it, I've raced several and they couldn't believe how fast I was.
The RS is not as quick either I've raced and beat quite a few!

I have the st, brilliant car but 90% of people think the St and especially the rs are alot faster then they actually are (stock wise or semi modded) I've seen some incredibly fast focus's though

Love the RS brakes. Looks the same as the ones on a stock ST

In a CarWow video the S3 was quicker the the Focus RS so this isnt a surprise.
