SENTENCING: Toddler Tossed in a Dumpster Murder Trial — GA v. Leilani Simon

Georgia mom Leilani Simon called 911 in 2022, claiming her 2-year-old son, Quinton, was missing. Weeks later, Quinton's remains were found in a local landfill. Leilani Simon tossed the boy's body in a dumpster near her home. Simon was charged with malice murder, concealing the death of a person, making false statements, and false reporting. A jury found her guilty on all charges. She will be sentenced Thursday afternoon.

It is very hard for me to wrap my head around people who still so loyally love their family members even after they did such terrible, disgusting things. I love my niece with all my heart, but if she had a baby and then threw him in a dumpster, I would absolutely never speak to her again and definitely not show up to court crying about how awesome of a person she is.

The timing of Leilani’s sentencing just so happens to coincide with Susan Smith’s first parole hearing after serving thirty years and we all know how that turned out!!
