In this weeks' episode of straight out of the box I make the most out of my time with a 2003 Fender Crafted in Japan Jaguar. I also highlight why the JG-66 models have gotten so expensive and what makes the newer models so different from these. This is not a full review, just a quick unboxing and then first impression play through.

Now this sounded absolutely wonderful, fits your style and the reaction between your playing, the guitar and the amp were just in perfect sync (even through YT) - a great thing to see :)

Hey jim, I just picked up a lefty jg66 2004 model from Japan, I can’t wait until it arrives hopefully in one piece haha. Thanks for all the jaguar info and videos they are very informative on those kinds of things please, keep up the good work.

fender usa and mexico need to put out a faithful 60s reissue, i think everyone would win from it. its just crazy to see these jg66 models spike up in price in real time this past year

Jim its always great to see you playing on a Jag and enjoying yourself! You seemed to be liking this one. Beautiful guitar and nice playing as always...
BTW do you have a favorite setting on a Jaguar, like rhythm circuit neck pickup, or lead channel neck pickup, bridge pickup/both of them on (lead circuit still) at once or is it hard to say/pick?
Anyway Merry Christmas to you and your family! 🎄

Just got a black 2009 JG-66. It’s got Seymour Duncan Antiquities in it and the thing

It looks like happiness, I'll be honest....
I'm looking at all kinds of guitars now. Something Jaguar-esque and offset. I saw a Squire 70s Jaguar FSR at CME, Lake Placid Blue sparkle/matching headstock for $499. But I could grab a Harmony Silhouette for not much more $$. Under or around $1k...
There's alot of options. But I want a short scale, and I want it offset. And that's the definition of a Jaguar.

Haven't watched the whole video yet.... Don't forget the new MIJ jaguar's are made with basswood, the older JG66's are alder. That makes them more desirable too

US Original 60s or this JG-66, Jim? And how do they compare in terms of neck profile? Any advice more than welcome. Happy xmas.

hey Jim, don’t mean to get too off topic with this video but is there any way you can upload your album’s songs as individual videos? been meaning to ask this a while ago but never got to it

nice review thanks, using clean tones really highlighted the guitars sound 10/10

They should use some of your riffs in Movie soundtracks...

What's the depth of the neck at the 1st and 12th frets?

I don't mind the sound of those pickups at all, but I'm no traditionalist!

I mean, which Jaguars aren't expensive as fuck? Not counting the Squire models, obviously
