There's fuck all difference between the Mercedes-Benz and the BMW. They're both incredible machines to drive. It's amazing how much powerful and refined Diesel engines are nowadays.

Leute beide Einzelvideos anschauen. Der 540d ist zwar touring, wiegt aber in etwa das gleiche wie der cls. Dennoch herrschen ca. 30 Grad unterschied bei den beiden Aufnahmen. Beim 540 zu Beginn 4, 5 Grad und beim cls halt 34, 5 Grad. Die Zahlen sind nicht wirklich aussagekräftig.

The BMW had the Merc licked until really high speed. Be interesting see how an E Class would compare, as it is closer aerodynamically to a 5 Series.

Too sad goverments want to kill diesel engines... They improved much and this two are probably the best diesels out there.... Smooth, quiet, powerful and visit petrol stations rarely... Back in the time everbody was buying diesel because of its fuel consuption and had to give up on power, but now you can get both :) For example, new MB inline 6 petrol that is marked with 450 has 367hp and 500 Nm and 2, 9l 400d has 340 with 700 Nm and probably 3-4 liters per 100 km better fuel consumption

Respect for the BMW. It is faster of the line till 120. even though it hast 20hp and 20nm torgue less than the benz.

Don‘t care which is faster. Bought myself a 540xd Touring (Even in its slower top-end, but the touring is so much better overall). Getting it end of April. 🤗

BMW has it until about 175 km/h despite having less power/ torque, then the Mercedes pulls ahead helped by better aerodynamics. Impressive machines both of them :)

BMW was faster up to 150 km/h with the help of the launch mode. And then benz used the advantage of more 20 hp and torque and there is also a drag coefficient difference i guess since cls has a better value than 5 series because its coupe design. So with the help of this three merc got faster at high speeds despite being heavier. Both of them are great cars with great engines. Also thanks for this nice video

Head to head! What a comparison, they both got their peaks at times but it looks like overall benz is more fast but bmw is more dynamic.

This 540d xdrive Touring is a great car. As a wagon it has all important things. And let's be honest, in normal daily driving you need a car which is fast to 100.
Well this one is really fast to 100 :D
