My doctor is having some problems identifying my problem. I have herniated discs at L4-L5 and recently got a nerve block to determine where exactly it is. It hurts in the lower back but also radiates into the leg after some time. But the hernia is central which causes more confusion.

Sciatica can and more than likely is from myofascial trigger points in the piriformis/deep rotators or the gluteus minimus. Myofascial pain syndrome is the most common chronic pain condition

Dry needling is the most effective treatment for this.

I once fell on my back while playing soccer after doing a bicycle kick. I didnt notice anything was wrong until i got drop foot. I now get severe drop foot every time i play soccer and i feel a pain all the way up my leg into my lower back. is this what could be causing that?

Intense Radiculopathy takes longer to calm down than Intense Sciatica. Ive had both and no doubt radiculopathy is more annoying
