In 3 Phase system, each phase is 120 Degree apart from each other so total will 360 degree which causes motor to turn
As most industrial applications are electrical motors

3 Phase system use because it is easily generated, when we talk about 1 phase or 2 phase system it is vary difficult to generate due to higher insulation level but in these 3 Phase system, power is easily generated at hv level.
Anathor causes is that is phase difference, in the case of 3 Phase Ballance system it has 120 degree phase shift, but in the case of 2 phase system it near about 180 degree which causes faces some problem .
