Cleveland Browns news and rumors today are HOT from this article by The Athletic from the New York Times. Jason Lloyd and Zac Jackson broke down all of the Deshaun Watson rumors surrounding his time in Cleveland so far. Browns GM Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski have a lot of work to do to turn this team around after a 3-14 season. Get all the details from this Deshaun Watson article with Browns Report host Matthew Peterson.

The Athletic’s Jason Lloyd On Deshaun Watson:
“For three years, the Browns contorted themselves to match Watson’s strengths and desires. But teammates ultimately grew tired of the organization catering to an ineffective quarterback, and he never really fit in Cleveland. He received at least one death threat. But after he arrived in Cleveland, Watson never embraced Stefanski’s system. He wanted to be in shotgun, and Stefanski wanted him under center to make the play-action component more effective. You have to bring Joe back; somebody has to teach Deshaun the offense,” one member of the organization said as the season neared its conclusion. “Joe picked it up faster in 30 days than Deshaun has in two years.”

Browns front office: We did our research on Watson. Remember that comment y’all.

Thank you for FINALLY telling the truth about how Watson decision ruined the whole Brown's team. What a bad idea to get him in the 1st place.

The next time Jason Lloyd is right about “a scoop” will be the first.

The Browns have been the worst run organization in all of sports for 25 years and it's not even close. I still think we'll see another Cavs title and even a Guardians title before the Browns make a Super Bowl, let alone win one.

The Browns"s did not do their homework on Deshaun Watson before they traded for him. Haslam pushed this trade and it backfired

Watson only took the Cleveland offer because it was the only organization that guaranteed the full amount.

Now it is time to fire the person or people that pushed this deal through for Watson.

I projected a 4-13 Browns season. Never realized what an optimist I am. 😎

Wow. What an era of browns football that was. Insane roller coaster for us.

Deshaun was one of my favorite players in college and in Houston. I was excited out of my mind when we got him.

Those first 6 games he looked like garbage but everyone convinced themselves it was okay.

The same thing kept happening and then Flacco and Winston opened our eyes.

Through all that the Browns are still in a position to compete now after the draft and free agency.

LETS GO BROWNS

thanks for the video Petey

Stop letting the coach off the hook. He should have held Watson accountable regardless. Smh Hes a grown ass man, not a child.

Flacco threw 2 pick 6’s in a row in the playoffs. He’s over the hill.

Dirty laundry being aired now? Watson must be going. Imagine if he doesn't.

The part with Flacco just puts into more detail why he was let go, even though at the time it wasn’t a surprise that someone who wasn’t in camp training, coming off the couch in December was better than Watson was in the matter of games showed how bad Watson really was, so Flacco was let go. The report shows how bad mentally Watson is on learning that he was under the system for two years struggling, yet Flacco comes in and learns it under 30 days.

I hope that the Browns don’t take Sanders since he’s a younger version of Watson, someone who has to be in the exact system that was built for him and will fail if it isn’t.

These "assumptions" make it sound like Ownership wasn't the one dictating the Watson disaster. A lot of problems could be cast aside if Haslam openly admitted that he was forcing his leadership into Watson support. The fact that he hasn't fired Berry and Stefanski screams that it wasn't their fault, so why not own it so the media stops depicting them as making such an incompetent move!? Humility obviously is lacking, and speaks towards his poor leadership.

As much as this article exposes Watson as a fraud, it also highlights Stefanski’s limitations as a coach. I live in Baltimore, and watched Harbaugh totally revamp the offense from Flacco to Lamar Jackson as the QB. That’s the sign of an elite coach

A cloud was lifted indeed. The rest of the Browns won 1 game after the injury

Dorsey didn’t start calling plays until after Watson got hurt. If the whole purpose was to bring Dorsey to call the plays for DW4, then why would the Browns wait until DW4 got hurst and out for the season to change the play callers . This made no sense and defeats the purpose of getting Dorsey.
