A blizzard started to blanket Russia's second largest city of St. Petersburg on Thursday, followed by temperature drop and traffic disruption.

Although St. Petersburg is located near the Arctic Zone, such a blizzard is still rare in November.

On Sunday night, temperatures plummeted to minus 14 degrees Celsius. So far, St. Petersburg has recorded an average snowfall of 300 millimeters, with some areas seeing as high as 500 millimeters.
