How well can crocodiles see underwater?

Diving with crocodiles is not for the faint-hearted. In the channels and spillways of northern Botswana’s famed floodlands, Nile crocodiles are the apex predators. Adults can tip the scales at 750 kilograms (1,650 pounds) and spend much of their time lurking in the depths, which makes studying these toothy giants in their natural habitat very difficult. In an effort to understand more about the underwater lives of the Okavango Delta’s crocodiles, a team of intrepid researchers take a dip with these behemoths and gain some ground-breaking insights into how they perceive life below the surface.
