Vortex Dome

_______________________________________________________________________

This is a beautiful physics toy designed for your desk. A vortex lives in here, just spin the glass dome to see it.

The vortex is created by movements of the Rheoscopic fluid inside the dome; rheoscopic fluids make visible the currents in the liquid. There is a ball bearing underneath, which allows the dome to spin very easily.

Made in the UK

This guy is so cool, showing us toys we’ve never even heard of. No intros, annoying voice, no clickbait thumbnails, nothing but a soothing voice and really cool items. I think we found it boys. *the best youtuber*

This is what the internet needed. An old man showing us tchotchkes. No egotistical swaggering no jump cuts or annoying dubstep, no timer filling talking. NOT EVEN AN INTRO! And its lovely! Subscribed.

I've never seen another channel that deserved the title of "Mr. Rogers of the Internet" more than Tim

Does anyone get that extremely calm feeling with videos like this where someone is explaining something in a soft voice? It’s not ASMR but I really wish there was a name for it because whenever I find a video like this it brings me back to when I was a kid

Noooo! You never allowed the circle to reach the top! How could you deprive me like this?

He never lost touch with his inner child. We can learn a lot from that.

I like how imperfections in the swirls, like drag from the heavier materials and wobble during the spin, creates smaller, subtle vortexes at points of most convenience, then the circle forming at the very top takes on a more "hexagonal" shape, similar to that of the top of Saturn.

This looks like a piece of planet Neptune's surface.

The way the vortex forms when the glass is stopped makes me wonder if the formation of the spiral arms of the Milky Way wasn't the result of interaction with some relatively slower-moving medium outside the galactic disk.

The spinning effect is fascinating. I recently saw a science channel on YouTube demonstrate a similar effect as this by spinning glitter.
When they spun the glitter it went in all different ways and when stopped the glitter sorted itself into color layers.

You are one of the best youtubers, quality content, straight to the point and no unnecessary "edits". We love you Tim <3

I love how you can tell that he just can't stop spinning it himself. It's honestly more satisfying watching him play with toys then it is playing with them himself

This is one of the most fascinating toys I have ever seen on this channel. A good reminder of why I shouldn't watch Tim at work.
