She is back in action! Now, its time to break in a new cylinder
This took a long time but finally it’s done! The plane was down for about 6 weeks altogether and I id make one important upgrade during this time…. NEW SEAT BELTS! This was a much needed safety upgrade and I was pretty surprised at the cost, but it’s an airplane and its done.
So why did it take so long? Well, the cylinder wasn’t the issue, when we were putting the new cylinder on we discovered that an air duct host from the cowling to the carburetor had a hole in it and needed to be replaced. Sound like a small deal, well yes, except we couldn’t find the part and Cessna had to make me one. It wasn’t really a cost issue, rather it was a time issue. It took 5 weeks for that to happen and get shipped out. Then as we were installing the new cylinder the mag wires were really due for a replacement being that they were over 20 years old and that added an extra week…
And the big news is 2214Y will be coming up for sale soon. Stay tuned...
