10 Tips For Editing Automation In Ableton Live

In this video, we will be taking a look at 10 ways to edit automation in Ableton Live. Automation is extremely important to creating complex and rich sounds for your songs and there are tons of ways in Live to control the motion of your envelopes.

So much mouse clicking and dragging. It gives me RSI by looking at it.
Click and drag up and down, left and right, right click until the end of time. Is not efficient, ergonomic, or fun.

For example, The different automation shapes in the right click mouse menu should be mappable to a keyboard shortcut.
You can map your coffeemachine to anything in Live but to select a automation shape you have to right click and navigate, click again, navigate. Every single time.
Mindboggling

Another example is renaming a track + all clips in that track.
Just try to rename a track including all clips it contains to the same name and count how many steps you need to take.
I can open any other DAW. Select a track. Command;control R to rename. Hit Enter for track only and Shift Enter for renaming all clips and track using 1 keyboard shortcut

And why is it impossible to color code specific automation lanes to have at least a little visual organisation when editing many automation lames at once.
