Joe Bonamassa also does a number with her dad called stone cold.
Jimmy was a huge fan of Mahalia Jackson and Tina turner he fell in love with there powerful vocals and high energy, so he said if he ever had a daughter he would name her Mahalia, and that is how her name came about, pretty much all of his family are musically gifted either as singers or musicians. 👍

Another great one from Mahalia is Nasty Gal. She sure can belt it out. Jimmy’s kids were all singing from when they were knee-high when they formed a group called the Tin Lids (kids). Barnsey’s family are all very talented singers and musicians.😊

Jimmy named her after Mahalia Jackson after hearing her on tv when he was a young teenager. . Mahala Jackson was an American gospel singer, widely considered one of the most influential vocalists of the 20th century. He has worked with both local and international artists and producers such as Karen Lee Andrews, Emma Donovan, Guy Sebastian, Jimmy Barnes, Cold Chisel, Joe Bonamassa, Johnny Diesel (Jimmy Barnes brother inlaw), Kevin Shirley and many more.

Oh we try and hide all our great secrets here in Aus lol, another slipped out lol. No, we are so proud of Mahalia, all her family and all our talent here that the rest of the world is recently discovering. Funny I often think about growing up listening and watching TV so much from the USA and Uk, but they didn’t know heaps about us here. Yes I’m senior I remember Leave It To Beaver, Rin Tin Tin etc, watching every American musical with mum. Listening to mum’s Bing Crosby and Judy Garlands 78 records. Oh sorry I’m waffling as usual, I’ll name my darling dad for that. 😂
