Fernando Sor: Study Bb Major Op. 29 n. 13

This piece is deceptively HARD to play and make it sound this beautiful and musical! Those relentless barre chords are murder on the left hand! I myself have tried unsuccessfully to perfect this piece, so my highest respect to you for mastering it so beautifully!!

The only other guitarist I’ve heard do it justice is Christopher Parkening.

Mr. Baric, I like to tell you that when I listened to your performance, my mind drifted to a place that was so calm and peaceful, even the lighting in your room evokes the image of a cathedral or church with candle light; a soprano was singing the “Ave Maria” by Charles Gounod. It was so ethereal and other-worldly. Bravo.

As for the difficulty for the left hand, I completely understand: I was learning this piece a few years ago, feeling the pain everytime I would play the study. However, digging into the piece you'll discover there are tricks in fingerings that make it a little bit easier for the left hand and also help you connect those beautiful melody lines... (Part 1)

@UMBERTO428 ...Please, consider watching the part where you feel most pain again closely - you'll see the left hand fingerings differ from those suggested by Ruggero Chiesa in the Suvini Zerboni Edition.

I've been trying to learn this since last summer. ..until I listened to your performance I thought I would give up: it's really hard for my left hand....but thanks to you I can discover now how much beauty there is behind these notes!! I will go on and never lose heart! Please, accept my sincere compliments: I'm not an expert, but as far as I know, this is really challenging at my level, and you cannot imagine how stimulating it can be to have the opportunity to watch such a great performance!

I love this colorful yet conservative phrasing. You do what the composer wrote but with as much personality and phrasing as possible without taking too many liberties with the melody. Bream would love your playing.

Nice to see you glide through that treacherous measure of D7 with the F# on bottom C on G string, D on B string, A on high E string ! This has got to be among the top 5 hardest stretches in the entire guitar repertoire, and possible the hardest of all ! (excluding Aaron Shearer's reach development exorcises ! ).  Great performance of one of the toughest in the book  ...
