THE MIGHTY CANDU! Thank you Osama, this was a great video. I would love to know more details about any of this. Like what the remote equipment for dissassembly looks like.

What an excellent start of the week! A very detailed video of one of my favourite reactor types. How amazing that by doing the full refurbishment they give the reactor a second lease on life. After this second period, would it be possible to do that for a third time? If so, it means theoretically those reactors could live to be a very respectable 100 years old.

Thanks. Have you considered a video on nuclear spacecraft propulsion?

What amount of life extension is provided by the refurbishment of the units? Is 20 years, for example, added or is the unit good to go for another 40 years?

Great video osama! Have you done a video on PUREX or other fuel reprocessing processes ?

This seems to be the quickest, easiest and probably cheapest way on getting a bunch of nuclear power back online both here in Canada but also around the world... I'd also look at reviving the cancelled nuclear power reactors next... Those sites seem like great places to add newer designed reactors too! I'm still shocked at how many were planned and started in addition to those that were already opened, operated and closed...

after finding out about this reactor type.. it seems like a nobrainer to use this type of reactor. decomissioning other reactor types is a significant cost. this type seems to have that sorted.

Corrections:
Wolsong had a single unit refurbed, not all 4.
Pickering A had 2 units refurbed and the other 2 were shut down due to cost overruns of the first two unit refurbs.
Pickering B has not been refurbished... Yet...

If the Tubes were bigger, could we not facilitate a Sleeve, then instead of refurbishing a whole reactor at once you re-sleeve.

shouldn't coolant of Candu lightwater?

SO IT IS SMART TO PRODUCE AN EXTRA REACTOR THAT COULD USED FOR BACKUP POWER WHILE REBURBISHING.

I still can't clearly see how candu reactors work. I can see the calandria, but where does the water go? In between the tubes? And why do you say there's thousands of bundles, does each tube hold many of them inside? How is the water move to the heat exchanger, with pumps? Finally I thought that you could refuel a candu reactor as is still running, is that right?

Thanks for the videos. We need more of this if we are going to save the planet
