Oh, the joys of new vinyl procurement, when the "exclusive" run of 3000 copies on white vinyl is the same as the 15,000 run available at Amazon. Which one sounds better? Tune in to find out! (with audio clips!)

I got mine direct from Joni mitchell as well on white vinyl, mine played with no issues. Very clear. It sucks that some are good and some suck. I preordered mine as well as soon as it was avail for preorder

Is there a black vinyl version? Discogs has two entries only. One of these versions was pressed in the Czech Republic by GZ Media. This version is not designated to any country or geographic region, but it is probably Europe? Some months ago, I was looking at another Joni Mitchell release and was dismayed to see that it too had been pressed in the Czech Republic. Rhino is usually a pretty good outfit and quite focussed on vinyl quality. Surely, an artist of the stature of Joni Mitchell deserves to have her vinyl records pressed at the best facilities? These would be Optimal, Pallas, and Record Industry in Europe and RTI and Gotta Groove in the United States. I would not be surprised if the second version designated as the U.S.A. and Canada release, that is the so called limited edition on white vinyl, was pressed by one of GZ Media's affiliates in Canada or the U.S.A. These would be Precision in Canada and Memphis Record Pressing in the U.S. It is always necessary, even for new vinyl, to both wet clean and ultrasonically clean before first play. If the noise persists after this, then you know you have a 'duff' pressing. The noise complained of could be due to 'non fill', that most egregious of pressing defects. Well, at least Rhino had the nous to have the Joni Reprise albums' box set pressed at RTI for the U.S. and Canada and Optimal for Europe.

Why do they bother?!?!? The same crazy rubbish with the kevin gray nina simone stuff. Static crispy bits which ruin the beauty of these important albums. We're in 2022 ffs!?! We shouldn't get these quality issues.
