JAKE THE SNAKE | The Jake Roberts Story (Full Career Documentary)

There have been a lot of great personalities in wrestling. However, perhaps no one in the history of the industry has ever been able to perform with such an excellent grasp of psychology more than Jake “The Snake” Roberts. Yes, whether it be his masterful ability to hold crowds in the palm of his hand with his in ring work or his often chilling promos that proved you didn’t have to shout to be heard, few if any have ever built a more compelling character than him. But of course, with this delving into his own psyche came a whole host of personal demons being unleashed too. But how did it all happen? Well, join us today as we take a deep dive into his entire career journey in Jake the Snake: The Jake Roberts Story.

The Resurrection of Jake the Snake was one of the most emotional documentaries I have ever seen. I am happy Jake was finally able to defeat his demons and find happiness.

DDP deserves all the love, praise and admiration he gets for saving Jake The Snake Roberts' life.

It's fantastic how DDP was able to basically save the lives of both Jake Roberts and Scott Hall, two of the greatest whose demons had almost brought to the brink of death.

DDP has earned a lifetime of respect for all that he has done. He stayed true and never abandoned his comrades.

I'm glad Jake has been able to become the man he is today. He fell so far and brought himself back. It's inspiring how he managed to do it and thanks will always be to ddp for helping in that process for not only Jake but so many people around the world.

Jake was the coolest wrestler when I was a kid in the 80s and 90s he was bad ass the way he had the snake in the bag and you kept looking at his matches waiting for him to let it out. One of the best ever.

Even though I didn’t watch until way later, I’ve always liked Jake The Snake Roberts. His promos are spine chilling and hypnotizing. And his in ring work is excellent along with his psychology.

A friend of mine who was a wrestling manager a few years ago was able to take a DDT from him! Said it was one of the best experiences of his life!

I saw Jake at an Indy show back in 2013 this was when DDP was helping him get his life back together. After the show he got on the mic and stated talking about how he was getting his life back together and I still remember him saying “Kids don’t do drugs” it’s probably one of the best things I experienced at a wrestling show and something that I’ll never forget

Jake had his demons. But I saw him at a show in '98 & I'll never forget it. He was in the ring at intermission, taking pics with fans. This little girl (probably 9 or 10) was in the front row asking for an autograph. Jake stopped what he was doing. Had a ln attendant grab the book, signed it & gave it back. Didn't try to get money from the parents like many others back then would've. That girl's smile didn't leave her face the rest of the night. Jake had his issues. But he's a class act in my book.

I'm glad Jake "The Snake" Roberts made the feature here and rightfully so! One of the best in-ring minds of all time with the most known finishing move The DDT! To this day wrestlers use the move but none is better than its creator!!!

His WWF theme song had an 80s feel to it, still the best theme songs of all time alongside Mr. Perfect and I listen to it so often.

I remember doing coke and speed with this guy in the late 80’s early 90’s he got out so did I. Deffeting demons rather than becoming nothing. Love you brother.

Thanks for this great documentary on Jake “The Snake” Roberts. I’ve been in attendance at some of his matches and have met him personally a few times. Regardless of how his personal demons had affected him, Jake gave me the impression that he was genuinely a good guy. I have to agree that he was a master psychologist when it came to cutting promos and he didn’t have to yell to be heard nor to get his message across. Jake is tall at around 6’5” or 6’6” but was not overly bulked up like Hogan or Warrior. And yes, I remember the crowd chanting for the DDT...those were the days!
