Ouch, I've had one of these- like Dr Wagner says there IS a reason they come about. After some podiatric surgeries I can say I'M ALL BETTER- THAT NASTY ball of the foot one has gone forever- and yes it does feel like a piece of gravel in there.

I have that problem with my left big toe the Doctor told me that I have a extra bone underneath my Big toe that is causing the callous to keep coming back he said the only solution is to have the extra bone removed with surgery I worry about the after affect after the surgery will I be in pain will I lose sensation in the toe and how would they cut the toe underneath?

I have one of these in the same spot that hurt like heck. Just dug it out. I had to. It got to the point of feeling like I couldn't walk today. Already feels so so so much better. What fame out felt like a literal rock.

The callus(is not thick) under my big toe is tender, if I try and pick at it, it’s sensitive underneath. I have no idk why it’s like that

I have pretty big ones on both my big toes on the side up a little higher and they have never been painfull for me
