The REvil ransomware gang is on a spree with nine victims in two weeks.
Over 1200 GB of data have been stolen from nine different organizations. The list of victims is international: law firms, a construction company, banks, and a manufacturer. One victim, Union Bank of Nigeria, has an asset base estimated at US $4.1 billion.
Research indicates that Gootloader's recent SEO poisoning campaign is responsible for the successful spread of REvil's ransomware Sodinokibi. At this time, no ransom amounts have been released. It is estimated REvil made over $81 million in 2020.
