Thanks for telling the story Arne! Watching this brings back all the incredible memories! Those were some of the best years working with you and so many amazing folks at AMS. Grateful for the unforgettable moments, the passion, and the lifelong friendships forged along the way!

TA2 is the most iconic evo in Jamaican history battling a time attack Audi tt, the evo was built perfect and had the CORRECT driver behind the wheel both cars ended up being involved it an accident that totaled both cars. TAX ended up in Jamaica a few years back and is still racing

You could make a drinking game everytime the guys say custom or crazy.

TAX also ended up in Jamaica, owned by a track owner also. Funny enough, TA2 that was sold to Favid Summerbell had a crash with an Audi TT RS DTM at that track and was retired thereafter

Clickbait title. It's the Stig from the American Top Gear series and he is mentioned in a grand total of one sentence in the entire video.

This video gave me a flood of memories of my time in high school sitting through study halls reading about these cars in Sport Compact Car.

I remember seeing that dual spoiler scion at road Atlanta. That thing has so much down force it was blowing the tires out at the end of the long straight. Crazy to see in person

Man I grew up with this era and of course there's rose-tinted nostalgia goggles, but I loved it. I was too poor to go full on into time attack, so I just did competitive autox, but constantly checking in on blogs and websites about how the AMS Evo X's were doing was such an inspiration. Evo X's really were one of the dominant cars of the 2010's tuner era. AMS put them on the map in time attack series, they were on tons of magazine covers and specials, they were in every video game (sometimes as the cover car), they were readily available to buy without markup, they were robust enough that even mediocre tuning shops could make them fast, they were great daily drivers (other than awful MPG).

I'll never sell mine. It's funny to look at all the armchair commenters these days saying the last real "Evo" was the 9 when the X was such a good car that took over every corner of the import scene in it's day. Everybody who says they would rather the more "raw" feel of the Evo 8/9 are all people who wouldn't put up with living with one (none of them buy one, despite plenty of them still out there - textbook armchair argument). There are still so many Evo's out there looking for good owners right now. It's a shame to see them fall to cheap, neglectful owners treating them as just another old 20k car when it still stands strong today when properly taken care of. I really appreciated these stories as a trip down my own memory lane. Thanks a ton!

6:12 instantly thought about the reflection and how bad that would be on track.

I actually work right behind autobahn and listen to the cars all summer. It will be a dream to bring my evo there one day

Ive been saying for years fast and the furious absolutely ruined the car scene. Particularly the import scene.

The whole video made me think of Chris Rado, and then he mentioned him. Would be cool to get Chris on the show!

Well this was a compilation of "wait I remember that car" moments. This had such a NFS ProStreet vibe.
