An abused child is murdered for her own abuse… damn. Anyone who says Catherine was a willing participant by the time she was with Thomas Culpepper, I disagree. She was sexually abused starting at thirteen by a man who was THIRTY SIX and even just that will mess a child’s head up. The poor girl didn’t have a great chance. And the worst part is that it wasn’t even considered bad back in those days, at least on the grounds of sexual abuse. The only bad of it would be that Catherine ‘sullied’ herself and wasn’t a virgin before marriage which is… backwards as f*ck.
But kudos to Tamzin Merchant, she doesn’t get enough credit for this. You can hear the growing desperation in her voice, crying out to Henry for her life, trying to remind him who she is, that she’s his wife… and the cracking of her voice and the higher pitch as she’s dragged away, with him not listening… 😢
