I think Mario is different in his reactions is only because Mario’s personality changed since then. Modern Mario is INCREDIBLY forgiving, to the point he’s gone Jesus levels of “I have no enemies, only friends who don’t like me.” Also, Mario has dealt with Donkey Kong before, so he’d probably know how he ticks to the point he isn’t all too mad, as he understands the intentions and thought processes behind the monke.

Wow! The cutscenes are very cinematic! And at the end donkey kong didn't even cry, and mario didn't Get Mad at him, like in the original! And I ❤ How Mario gave him a Mini Mario! A Great frienemy relationship!
